What are the requirements for becoming a teaching assistant (TA)? If interested, how can I apply? If you are interested in applying to become a teaching assistant, we thank you for your interest and look forward to onboarding rising new teaching assistants (TAs), which will place you in the leadership team. To become a course teaching assistant, it is mandatory for students to complete the corresponding course (i.e., MIT AI 101 - Programming Skills) and achieve a 90%+ submission rate for all labs and homework assignments to be eligible for consideration. Upon the completion of a course and depending on the availability of TA positions, teachers may post a TA Application Form into discussion channels to allow those interested in applying. Our mode of communication with this form occurs through Discord that is only accessible internally to course registered students. If you have further questions about TA’ing at ArcGen Academy, please send an inquiry through our Contact Form.

What can I expect to be able to do after completing a course? Our students have continued pursuing their innovative endeavors outside of ArcGen. Students who have learned a course in this institution have established a consistent record of winning awards across major programming competitions, receiving admissions into prestigious universities, along with continuing to master more difficult coding languages. We believe that the cultivation of excellent programmers is largely based on how much you "keep your hands wet", meaning that improving your coding skills depends on a conscious effort to proactively build, troubleshoot, and collaborate in real projects and competitions. Learn more at the Competition News page.

Which competitions do students participate in? Where can I find these opportunities?Students participate in an array of competitions individually or in teams, and are not limited to submitting mobile application projects and or engaging in contests domestically within the US. Our teaching staff often inform parents and students of opportunities, and students often find themselves collaborating with their peers internal to ArcGen for team entries. To name a few, we traditionally participate in annual challenges such as the San Ramon Hackathon, MIT App Inventor-specific contests such as the MIT Global AI Hackathon, and renown international fairs such as the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. More information on these competitions along with a full list of opportunities can be browsed in the Competitions & Events page.
